Why did you first choose your sport? To get better at soccer/track and field
Why do you continue to play your sport? It’s not only physically challenging, but mentally
as well, and it pushes to do more than you think you can.
If you could achieve anything you wished for in your sport, what would it be? Be on the
Olympic team!
How important is achieving your sporting goals to you? Very important because it
motivates me to do better
What is your favorite sports quote? “A champion is someone who gets up when no one
else can”
What emotions do you feel when you play well? Proud but always wanting to improve
more
What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing? Usually a rap song with a loud
beat
What is your favorite movie about sports? Remember the Titans
How does being an athlete make you a better person? It drives me to always perform
my best and want to improve no matter how good my performance is.
What is the one thing you always do after a good performance? Eat a really big meal
What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete? Picturing myself lifting the
bar with ease.

What is your favorite food to eat the night before a big competition? I don’t usually get to
eat the night before :)
Who inspired you as a young athlete? Lydia Valentine and Jordan Delacruz

What do you give up to play sports? Free time with friends, eating good food
What is your favorite place to compete? Mostly a local meet with a bunch of people
cheering me on.
What mental tool do you use under pressure? Putting my headphones in and getting
angry at the bar
What is your favorite mantra? I am unstoppable
Do you think attitude is a factor in winning? Definitely one of the biggest factors
What image gets you ready to compete? Seeing myself on the podium, getting first place
medals
How does being an athlete inspire you to do good? By knowing i am capable than more
than I think.
How does athletics make you a better student or worker? I know i can do things when I
put my mind to them
